Hackint0sh Icon

For those who don't know what a Hackintosh is, it's an ordinary PC that runs Mac OS X. Sounds simple, but it's really not. Mac OS X will run only on a very narrow range of hardware. Plus, there's a lot of voodoo that's required to get the Mac OS to boot on PC hardware, patching the kernel, applying kernel extensions for the Mac OS to understand the hardware, and the care and feeding Mac OS demands to keep running (chiefly, resisting the temptation to mess with it).

That said, it can be done. When it's done right, running arguably the best operating system in the world on ordinary PC hardware is very rewarding.

On to the icon. Apple made a snarky icon representing PC's that Mac users see on the network. They're obsolete CRT monitors with a BSoD. A tacky gloat to be sure, but also funny. All Mac users pretend to be appalled at this icon.

I took this icon and massaged the Mac desktop icon into the screen portion to create the Hackint0sh icon. Mac, Windows, and *nix versions included. Enjoy!
